Ride for free Dec. 15- Jan. 2

Taylor County’s in-town shuttle bus will be free of charge beginning Monday, Dec. 15, through Jan. 2, 2015.

In September, the Taylor County Commission unanimously agreed to waive the 50-cent fee for those riding the in-town shuttle during the last three weeks of the year.

The in-town shuttle visits 22 stops throughout the city each hour from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A one-way ride is 50¢.

Stops include: Super Wash, Tidewater Apartments, Jerkins Community Center, Exxon Station, Woodridge Apartments, Family Dollar, Kmart, Winn-Dixie, Taylor Technical Institute, BP Station, Dollar General, Walmart, Perry Post Office, Taylor County Courthouse, Taylor County Public Library, Even Start, Taylor County Health Department; Premier Medical, Taylor County Senior Center and Doctors’ Memorial Hospital.

The shuttle makes the loop in one hour and repeats the route throughout the day, except from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
