Former teacher gets jail time for having sex with underage student

Former Taylor County High School teacher Christine Bennett, who admitted to having relationships with a student, was sentenced to two years in the county jail and one year of probation Tuesday morning, Jan. 20.

She pled “no contest” to three misdemeanor counts of child abuse (contributing) and was adjudicated guilty by County Judge Bill Blue.
