Local Cub and Boy Scouts will be participating in the annual “Scouting for Food” service project over the next two Saturdays.
This Saturday, Jan. 31, scouts will place “Scouting for Food” bags on doors in the community. Local residents are asked to fill the bags with canned foods or nonperishable items and place the bags back by the door they found it or by the front door.
Scouts will then return on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the morning to pick up the donated items. All items collected will be donated to local food banks.
Scouts in Taylor County have been participating in “Scouting for Food” for almost 20 years and have collected around 30,000 pounds over the years.
