Members of the founding family of Gulf Telephone Company attended Monday’s Taylor County Historical Society meeting to hear Donald Bowden share the history of telephone service n this community.
He traced the company’s roots from 1904 to today. Bowden highlighted the leadership roles of founder E.L. “Luther” Cox and his son, E.L. “Ernest” Cox. The family owned the telephone company for more than 90 years.
