Veterans were lined up before the doors even opened for Monday’s Veterans Fair held at Forest Capital Hall. More than a dozen veterans-service related organizations were on hand to answer questions and offer assistance for county veterans as well as those from surrounding counties.
The event was coordinated by the Taylor County Commission in partnership with the offices of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, State Senator Bill Montford and State Rep. Halsey Beshears. According to County Grants Director Melody Cox, the fair was spearheaded by Rubio’s office, which wanted to hold a veterans event in a rural county to bring a large number of resources together which might not otherwise be available locally.
