AMVETS Riders chapter 20 will host a benefit Poker Run this Saturday, Feb. 28.
Proceeds will benefit a local family facing medical and housing needs: the husband is a U.S. Army veteran
battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease); the family lost their home in November 2014 due to a fire.
“The expenses have mounted since they lost almost everything they had. This ride is to help offset those costs,” organizers said.
Registration will start at 10 a.m., at the AMVETs Riders clubhouse (1410 S. Jefferson Street). The ride will begin at 11 a.m.
The cost is $15 per rider.
