Helicopter makes emergency landing

The ShandsCair helicopter stationed at Doctor’s Memorial Hospital (DMH) was forced to make an emergency landing in a wooded area off U.S. Highway 19 shortly before lunchtime Tuesday after a bird reportedly flew into one of its intake engines.

The landing is believed to have taken place in the stretch of woods between U.S. Highway 98 and U.S. 19, which encompasses the Three Rivers Hunt Club.
