After rejecting a bid from Anderson Columbia Co. for a state-funded resurfacing project on Roberts Aman Road in January, the Taylor County Commission has agreed to accept a second bid from the company for $64,000 more to complete the same work.
The project, which has been delayed nearly six months due to funding shortfalls and bidding issues, was originally set to be funded through a $369,949 allocation from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Small County Outreach Program (SCOP). The work will finish the widening and resurfacing of Roberts Aman Road, which was first started when the county received a SCOP allocation in 2007. That project also ran into funding shortfalls which left the resurfacing incomplete. This new project will run from just east of Joel Aman Road to Johnson Stripling Road, approximately 0.85 mile.
