Fire fighters with the Florida Forest Service (FFS), Taylor County Fire-Rescue and the Perry Fire Department (PFD) responded to a brush fire on Chip Mizell Road shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20.
According to FFS District Manager Eric Black, the fire burned eight tenths of an acre. “We are calling it a suspected children-caused fire. We have no other information at this time. We do not have any suspects.”
Taylor County Fire Chief Dan Cassel said Fire-Rescue responded to the scene with a brush truck, a tanker and an engine, while the PFD sent a brush truck and an engine.
