Funding for new school cut by Senate, House

The Taylor County School District is once again on the outside looking in for state funding to help construct a new Perry Primary School (PPS).

When Florida Governor Rick Scott released his budget in January, it included some $5.8 million in special facilities construction funds for PPS in 2015-16 for the first year of the proposed three-year project. The funding was not included, however, in either the proposed Florida House or Florida Senate budgets released last week.
