5.3-pound trout takes top prize in Optimist Club Fishing Tourney

Billy Jack Gilliland’s 5.3-pound speckled trout was good enough to win the top prize of $3,000 in the Perry Optimist Club’s 24th Annual Saltwater Fishing Tournament held on Saturday, May 2.

Monica Kolacia won $1,000 for her tournament-best redfish of 6.42 pounds and Greg Gordon won the other $1,000 prize for his 14.4-pound cobia.
