Taylor County son who died in Korean POW camp will be honored on Memorial Day

Lum L. Slaughter was 19 years old when he joined the U.S. Army on Dec. 28, 1948.

Two short years later, just three months after his 22nd birthday, Slaughter’s family received notice from the military that he was missing in action (MIA) in North Korea.
