The family of burn victim Jackie Lee, 64, credits the Doctors’ Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS) EMTs and paramedics who treated their brother with saving his life.
“He was in a bed in Shands ICU within three hours of the (gas fire) accident. We haven’t been able to speak with him since the accident happened, but we know he was able to call 911 and EMS responded immediately. They called the airmedic helicopter to the scene and he was taken straight to Shands. The first responders were incredible,” Lee’s sister, Becky Lee Houck, said.
