Since the Florida Legislature concluded its regular session without a budget–and is not expected back in Tallahassee until Monday, June 1, to begin a 20-day special session in an attempt to hammer out a plan–the Taylor County School District has been left working on its own 2015-16 budget without knowing just how much funding it will receive from the state.
“Right now, we’re still in the dark,” Superintendent Paul Dyal said. “We’re following the guidance (provided by the Florida School Board Association) and budgeting very, very conservatively.
