Starting July 1, visitors to the Taylor County Courthouse will be greeted with new security measures that county officials say are being put in place to protect both employees and guests.
In April, the Taylor County Commission unanimously approved a series of new security procedures, including limiting entrance to the courthouse to the east doors (by the parking lot), while also requiring all visitors to step through a metal detector and pass belongings through an x-ray machine.

At that point, entrance to the courthouse will be limited to the east doors and all visitors will be required to walk through a metal detector and pass their belongings through an x-ray machine.
