Nashville’s Boxcars will headline this weekend’s Southern Music Rising Festival in downtown Monticello.
Beginning tonight (April 19) the Boxcars (shown above) will perform on stage at the Monticello Opera House from 7 p.m. until midnight followed by an after party downstairs with the Zydeco Band. Tickets are $35 for the entire event or $15 for the after party only.
The festivities pick back Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p..m with multiple performance stages throughout downtown and at the Opera House with a variety of merchant and food vendors. An all-day pass is $15 with free admission for children under 12. Saturday’s entertainment line-up includes Slim Fatz, The New 76ers, Swingin’ Harpoon, Ernie Evans & The Florida State Bluegrass Band and more.
