Authorities believe shooting incident which left Old Town man dead was ‘truly accidental’

A shooting incident Saturday night near the Dixie/Taylor County border claimed the life of a 21-year-old man, Garrett Cowart, from Old Town.

“All indications show this was truly accidental,” Dixie County Sheriff Dewey Hatcher Sr. said Monday.
