Gov. Rick Scott signed the state’s $78 billion budget Tuesday, vetoing more than $450 million in allocations, including a $292,000 grant for improvements to Forest Capital Hall in Taylor County.
With the House and Senate unable to reach a compromise during their regular session, the legislature was forced to return for a three-week special session, and finally approved the budget on Friday, June 19, the session’s next-to-last day, sending the spending plan to Scott to sign.
