County’s oldest resident dies at 106

Taylor County’s oldest resident, Alfhild Snell, known by most as Aunt Alfie, died Wednesday. She was 106 years old.

She was a familiar sight along Perry’s highways driving around in her 1972 Plymouth Scamp—which she kept in mint condition right up until she parked it (semi) permanently at the age of 104.
