The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) and Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced Thursday afternoon they were investigating the death of longtime educator Shelly O’Steen Strickland as a homicide.
Strickland’s body was found at her home on O’Steen Road shortly before noon Wednesday, June 24. An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning and the determination of homicide was released shortly after 3 p.m.
While very little information is being released about the murder, TCSO Capt. Ron Rice confirmed reports that Strickland was found in her vehicle with a gunshot wound.
