Wicked winds sweep across county Tuesday

A series of damaging storms passed through the area Tuesday afternoon and evening, leaving downed trees and power outages in their wake.

Damage was reported in the area of Golf Course Road, where at approximately 6:30 p.m. winds toppled several pine trees and broke out the tops of some mature oak trees, according to Taylor County Emergency Management Director Steve Spradley.
