    William “Bill” Turner Porter Jr.

    William “Bill” Turner Porter Jr., 84, of Ft. Walton Beach, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at his residence. Bill was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Shady Grove.

    He served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Bill worked as a window washer for countless businesses in Taylor County over many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard, taking care of his three dogs, and spending time with family and friends.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Thelma Porter; and a son, David Porter.

    Bill is survived by: two daughters, Wendy Woods, and husband Charles, of Perry, and Jeanne Showalter, and husband Danny, of Fort Walton Beach; a son, William “Bill” Porter III, of Fort Walton Beach; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Graveside services will be held today (Friday) Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
