City: ‘Loughridge Park will not be a garbage dump site’

City officials are correcting a misleading report circulated online over the weekend, alleging the city plans to make Loughridge Park a “garbage dump site.”

The confusion apparently stems from a proposal that would allow city residents to dispose of used furniture and mattresses one day per month at the local public park located off of Highway 98 – instead of having to haul those items 30 miles to the Aucilla Area Regional Landfill in Greenville.
