Taylor County’s jobless rate continues on upward trend

Taylor County’s unemployment rate stayed mostly level in July, edging up slightly to 7.9 percent.

The county’s rate was up half a percentage point from the year’s low of 7.4 percent recorded in April but still well below the 9.1 percent which greeted the new year in January. It is also significantly lower than the July 2012 rate of 9.5 percent.
