    Captain’s son recalls bygone days of Perry’s state prison work camp

    As the son of Perry state prison work camp Capt. Albert Johnson Sr., Albert Johnson Jr. was given a unique opportunity growing up—to witness the inner workings of the prison firsthand.

    Today, Johnson can still take visitors out to the prison site (now home to the Division of Forestry here) and point out landmark remnants that remain.
