Allen Cassidy Gunter, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, in Tallahassee.

Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at Indian Springs Cemetery in Perry. Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Perry.

Allen was born Dec. 27, 1942, in Taylor County, where he lived all his life. He loved people, gardening flowers and vegetables, fishing, cooking and was an outdoorsman. He never met a stranger. He was a member of church of Jesus Christ where he was branch president for 9 years.

Allen is survived by: his wife, Janice Gunter of Perry; two sons, Chris Gunter (Dina) of Smith Creek and Mike Gunter of Perry; one brother, Alec Gunter (Linda) of Perry; one sister, Raye Gunter Lamonte (Charlie) of Perry; one grandchild, Genny Gunter of Smith Creek; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
