    Wayne Ayers Spradley

    Wayne Ayers Spradley, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park, Florida. Mr. Spradley was born on June, 7, 1933 in Scanlon, Florida to Mr. Sumpter Cleveland Spradley and Mrs. Mattie Pierce Leggett Spradley.

    Wayne Spradley grew up in Taylor County and graduated from Taylor County High School in 1953. After high school he joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He then began work for Proctor and Gamble as a finishing supervisor where he worked diligently for 36 years. He retired in 1988 to devote himself full-time to his true passion, being an involved and devoted grandfather.

    Wayne Spradley married Dean Beaty in 1956 in Perry, Florida. They were happily married for 61 wonderful years. Wayne was a loyal and active member of First United Methodist Church in Perry Florida, where he enjoyed attending services every Sunday with Dean and his family. He was a devout Christian and loved his Lord with all his being. Wayne was passionate and excelled in several outdoor sports including turkey hunting, deer hunting and fishing. In his spare time he also enjoyed woodwork and made countless custom pieces for his family and friends. Wayne was an avid Gator Football fan and for many years enjoyed traveling with his wife Dean and friends to out of town games. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family more than words.

    Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Dean Spradley, of Perry Florida; parents, Mattie and Sumpter Spradley, of Scanlon, Florida; siblings, Gertrude Price, Alberta Bell, Sumpter Cleveland Spradley, Jr., Alma Burke, Dolyne Falany, Dollie-Jean Medley, and Lloyd Spradley.  

    Wayne is survived by his two sons; Gary Spradley, of Orlando, Florida, and Randy Spradley, wife Rhonda, of Perry, Florida; One daughter, Kandra Bell, of Tallahassee, Florida; Six grandchildren, Jonathan, Karmen, Marcus, Brett, Anna and Holly; Four great-grandchildren, Nate, Logan, Kayden, Hudson, Kora and Hayes; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and beloved friends.

    A private memorial service was held on March 26, 2020 for immediate family.
