    Anne Lois Ferns Millinor

    Anne Lois Ferns Millinor, 87, died peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

    She was born April 27, 1935, in Perry to Lois Sanders Ferns and James E. “Buck” Ferns.

    She graduated from Taylor County High School in 1953.

    Anne married the love of her life, Robert J. “Bob” Millinor, on July 3, 1955.

    Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her only sister, Betty Ferns Wilcox.

    Anne was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was active as a pianist and member of the choir. She later became a member of St. James Episcopal Church and remained so until her passing.

    As a young couple, Anne and Bob were active with the local Jaycees. Anne continued her community volunteer activities throughout her life, most notably starting the Share food program at Grace Methodist Church, the first of its kind in Perry, and her many years as a poll worker with the Taylor County Supervisor of Elections.

    Anne was an avid sports fan, particularly the FSU Seminoles.

    She enjoyed reading, music, gardening, traveling, keeping up with current events, and spending time with family and friends.

    Anne had a great sense of humor and made an impression on everyone she met.

    She is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Bob; five children, Jackie Millinor (Jim St. Croix) of Wakefield, Mass.; Robbin Whiddon (Joseph) and Kim Mauldin (Rhett), all of Perry; Dana McCranie (Mickey) of Fabius, N.Y., and Shannon Millinor (Paula) of Keaton Beach; and nine grandchildren: Keri Melanson (Howie) of Wakefield, Eric Whiddon (Elisa McCall) of Cedar Island, Mark Blanchette (Hyedi Allen) of Epsom, N.H., Joey Whiddon (Victoria), Bradley Mauldin (Lynda) and Amber Ross (Shane), all of Perry, Travis McCranie (Stephanie) of Pompey, N.Y., Shannon McCranie (Laura) of Fabius, N.Y., and Heath Millinor (Brooke Dean) of Perry.

    Further survivors include 19 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, her beloved pup, Bear, as well as her longtime friend and companion, Margarie Herring-Stewart, and many cherished friends.

    A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her name to Big Bend Hospice or St. James Episcopal Church.
