Fire destroys trailer at local campground

Red hot flames engulfed a single-wide trailer at Nafee Campground Friday afternoon, Sept. 6, gutting the structure within a matter of minutes. Taylor County Fire-Rescue responded to the scene at 4:42 p.m., and not only doused the flames, but kept the fire from spreading to nearby dwellings. Fire Chief Dan Cassel reported the home was unoccupied and no one was injured. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
