It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Edward Morris, a beloved husband and respected business owner in the forestry industry. John was raised in Fernandina Beach, and was a dedicated individual who excelled in all areas of his life with unwavering passion and commitment. His pursuit of knowledge led him to acquire a master’s degree at the University of Florida, reflecting his dedication to personal and professional growth. John’s business acumen was matched only by his love for the outdoors. Whether teeing off on the golf course or cheering on his favorite team, the Florida Gators, his enthusiasm was infectious to all who knew him. He was a Bull Gator for 53 years and was also a trainer for the football team while attending the University of Florida. His true solace, however, was found at Sandpiper on Cedar Island, a place of serenity and peace where he could immerse himself in the beauty of nature on the Gulf. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Charlotte Morris, who stood by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Together, they shared a bond that transcended time and space, a testament to the enduring love they shared. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles Frank Morris and Hattie Morris; his first wife, Cathryn Herrin Morris; and his brother, Doug Morris. John is survived by: his beloved wife, Charlotte Morris; his son, John E. Morris II and his wife, Cassie; his granddaughters, Bonnie Cathryn Morris and Carson Morris Crews and her husband, Braxton; his great-granddaughter, Keaton Ryn Crews; his stepson, Walter G.
