Rebuilding at the Beaches

Three new residential homes — including two with brand-new foundations and pilings — currently under construction at Dekle Beach can be seen in this photo, taken Sunday, May 4. A total of six new homes, as well as numerous more being repaired and three pole barns are in various stages of construction within the small coastal community, which suffered significant damage when Hurricane Helene hit on Sept. 26, 2024.
