DOGE cuts to AmeriCorps eliminated50+ jobs, services to 500+ students

On Monday, April 28, the local Boys & Girls Club learned the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had ordered the cancellation of over $400 million in AmeriCorps grant funding nationwide — a decision impacting more than 1,000 non-profits and over 32,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps senior volunteers.
