    Anne Attaway McCutcheon

    Anne Attaway McCutcheon, born on April 18, 1941, in Scanlon, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2025, at the age of 84.

    She was a dedicated educator and librarian who devoted her career to the Duval County Board of Education, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with her passion for learning and commitment to education.

    In 2018, Anne relocated from Jacksonville to Peachtree City, Ga., where she continued to build lasting friendships and connections within her new community.

    A proud graduate of Taylor County High School, Anne furthered her education at Florida State University, earning a degree in education. Her academic achievements laid the foundation for a lifelong dedication to teaching and literacy.

    Anne was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and relationships.

    She was  preceded in death by: her beloved husband, Gene Austin McCutcheon; parents, Clifford and Annie Attaway; and her brother, Sidney Attaway.

    She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Sean S. Jackson and his wife, Patricia; her grandchildren, Meagan Mayotte and her husband, Michael, James M. Jackson and Austin W. Jackson; her sister, Joyce Arnold; her niece, Belana Colquitt and her husband, Jeff; and many other cherished family members and friends.

    uneral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Matson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11:30 a.m. at the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, located at 910 N. Center Street in Perry.

    Anne Attaway McCutcheon will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to education, her deep faith and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
