David Ray Warren, a child of God, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, peacefully passed away on April 10, 2026, in Perry at the age of 70. Born on Sept. 22, 1955, in Asheville, N.C., David’s journey through life was marked by a steadfast dedication to his family and an unwavering commitment to his work as a millwright journeyman in the local SRM building. David’s early life in Asheville shaped his character and values, instilling in him a deep appreciation for nature and a love for community. He was well-known for being a man of God, and was a great nurturer and provider for his family, whom he loved dearly. He took great pride in his craft, mastering the skills of his trade and earning the respect of his colleagues. His work ethic and integrity were admired by many, and he often went above and beyond to lend a helping hand to those in need. Those who knew David will remember him not only for his work accomplishments, but also for his warm smile and infectious laughter. He had a unique ability to make others feel valued and understood, fostering genuine connections with everyone he encountered. David was a devoted husband to his wife of 25 years, Susan J. Warren, and his love for her was a testament to the strength of their partnership. Together, they created a warm, welcoming home full of love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. He is also survived by: his four sons, Andy Warren (Rhonda) of North Carolina, Lance Blanton and his son, Caden of Perry, Bradley Blanton (Sabrina) and their three children, Matthew, Hunter and Lacey of Perry, and Justin Blanton of Perry; David’s daughter, Jenny Warren of North Carolina; his brother, Michael Warren (Teresa) of North Carolina; and his sister, Renee Sinkovich (Joe) of North Carolina; as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; along with his cherished pets. David was preceded in death by his parents, Manson and Betty Warren. As we reflect on David’s remarkable life, we celebrate the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience and unwavering support for his family and friends. A private funeral service will be held and the family will inform everyone. In this time of sorrow, let us also take a moment to rejoice in the life that David lived-a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. He will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.
