Ballots will be counted, but half-cent tax cannot take effect until court rules

Voting on the school district’s proposed half-cent sales tax ended Tuesday, Nov. 3, but regardless of the results — which likely will not be known until Wednesday afternoon or later — a judge ruled Oct. 30 that the outcome cannot be certified or put into effect until the court decides if the ballot language is legal.
