Martial artists from around the world in Perry this weekend

Karate martial artists from the world will be in Perry this weekend as the Perry Shotokan Kenkojuku Karate dojo and the American Shotokan Karate-do Kenkojuku Alliance (ASKKA) present a series of seminars featuring head of style Tomokatsu Okano on Nov. 7-9.

According to organizers, there will be more than 80 participants representing dojos from as far away as California, New York and the Bahahams, along with Tomokatsu Okana, who is from Hachioji, Japan.

The seminars will be held at Forest Capital Hall on Friday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., as well as Saturday, Nov. 8, beginning at 3 p.m.

The seminars are open to the public (to watch) for a $5 spectators’ fee, which covers all three days.
