Sixty-two years after Shady Grove native PFC Joey Moody was killed in action in Korea, the Taylor County Commission unanimously agreed to request the state name the yet-to-be constructed new bridge on U.S. 221 (crossing the Econfina River) in honor the fallen soldier.
Last month, Shady Grove resident Auley Rowell asked the commission to consider beginning the process to name the new bridge after Moody. The designation must be made by the Florida Legislature.
