Thanks to several other projects elsewhere in the state falling through, the Taylor County Commission recently learned it would be receiving a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to fund housing rehabilitation projects for low-income residents in the county.
According to Grants Director Melody Cox, the county submitted an application to the federally-funded program in March, but did not make the cut to receive funding.
