‘Mandalay’ boat ramp remains open

Aucilla River’s Williams Fish Camp Landing boat ramp, more commonly referred to as the Mandalay boat ramp, remains open but is expected to close within the next week while crews work on improvements to the facility.

The ramp was originally expected to be closed beginning this Monday, Jan. 5. According to County Engineer Kenneth Dudley, signs will be posed on U.S. 98 and the roadway leading to the ramp once the ramp is closed.

Work will include the removal of the existing boat ramp, construction of a new two-lane, concrete boat ramp and a handicapped-accessible parking area as well as the installation of a new gangway and dockage.
