When law enforcement officers are sworn in, the oath they take is not made to an individual but rather to a document: the Constitution of the United States.
“It is not a perfect document, but it is the most perfect document we have today,” Perry Police Department (PPD) Chief Jamie Cruse said Tuesday morning during a swearing-in ceremony for the city’s newest police officer, Ptl. Austin Groover.
