    Trey Gamble Walker

    Trey Gamble Walker, 34, of Mayo, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 10, 2019 in Perry. Trey was born Nov. 13, 1984 in Gainesville to Bobby Jeff Walker and Lisa Gamble Walker. He was a 2003 graduate of Taylor County High School, where he was a member of the JROTC.

    Following High School, Trey joined the United States Army, where he served his country honorably for 12 years in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He worked as a truck driver for Byrds Logging, and in his spare time, enjoyed fishing and volunteering at the Mystic Jungle Exotic Animal Rescue in Live Oak.

    Trey was preceded in death by: his mother, Lisa Gamble Walker; and a grandmother, Ruth Gamble.

    He is survived by: his father, Bobby Jeff Walker, and wife, Rita, of Perry; a grandmother, June Pridgeon of Perry; one brother, Cody Duran Walker of Marianna; two stepsisters, Alicia Sherrer, and husband, Jamie, of Perry, and Dawn Arnold, and husband, Fred, of Farmington, Mo.; two aunts, Barbara Smith of Jacksonville, and Gayle Nix of Live Oak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery with Bro. Cricket Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Burns Funeral Home of Mayo. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Mayo.
