    Pansy H. Carlton

    Pansy H. Carlton, 89, passed away Aug. 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She went to be with her Lord after a long struggle with dementia. Pansy was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Carbur, Fla. to Eugene Hendry and Zula Hendry of Perry.

    Pansy was a homemaker, wife, mother, friend and Christian. She was of the Baptist Faith. She taught Sunday School for a number of years. Her family and friends were important to her. She enjoyed talking to people and hearing what they had to say. She studied her bible a lot. One of her favorite verses was John 3:16. While living at Dekle Beach she enjoyed floundering and mullet fishing. She and Ralph did a lot of shell collecting, which they both enjoyed. Pansy was known by many names: Panpan, Mama, and Ms. Pansy. Ralph always called her Ms. McGillicuddy.

    She is survived by: her husband of 72 years, Ralph; one daughter, Linda Hawkins (Vance); one son, Charles D. Carlton (Diane); two grandchildren, Amber Carlton and Robert Wesley Carlton; one sister, Velma Towles (Jim); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug.15, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Rev. Chris Arnold officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Bend Hospice of Perry (402 E. Ash St.) The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
