Wayne S. Sermons

Wayne S. Sermons, the beloved baby son of the Willie J. Sermons and Frankye M. Sermons, was born on June 16, 1954.  in Perry, and he died on Jan. 8, 2020.

Wayne spent his formative years in Perry and later moved to Long Island, N.Y., where he worked in manufacturing. When his company closed, he moved back to Perry to be with his mother and father.

He will remain forever in the hearts of his siblings: Dr. Brenda Magee, Willie J. Sermons (Yvonne), Charles S. Sermons (Gracine) and Dr. Wanza Sermons-Lee; five aunts, Sarah Hall, Mary “Topsy” Jones, Avondia Sermons, Linda Sermons and Olivia Sermons; two uncles, George Clayton (Sandra) and Leonard Sermons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) at Trinity Funeral Home from 5-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, at 3 p.m., at New Brooklyn Church. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery.

Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
