Edward Earl Callahan, 73, of Tallahassee peacefully passed away at the Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee on Jan. 30, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Perry May 27, 1951, the son of Ray Holmes Callahan and Johnnie Dell Lynn. He moved to Tallahassee with his mother, siblings and stepfather, George “Lucky” Kerrigan, in 1968 and considered it home for most of his adult life. He worked at Avis Car Rental for many years and was last employed as a courier service driver before retiring. Earl was happy-golucky and enjoyed hunting, f ishing and driving around in his truck. Remaining to cherish Earl’s memory are: sister, Diane Callahan Morgan of Tallahassee; brother, Ray Holmes “R. H.” Callahan of Tallahassee; niece, Alisha Leigh Morgan of Tallahassee; uncle, John E. Lynn (and wife, Nancy) of Perry and their daughter, Melissa; aunt, Jane Lynn Taylor of Perry and her children, Shane and Tasha; cousins, David Gentile of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Mike Gentile of Castle Rock, Colo. Preceding Earl in death were: his mother, Johnnie Dell Lynn Callahan Kiernan; father, Ray Holmes Callahan; and aunt, Bettie Jean Lynn Gentile.
