Mary “Tootsie” A. Swindle, 82, of Perry passed away on Feb. 17, 2025 after an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1942, to Bill and Mary T. Bodiford and was one of f ive children. Mary was preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest “Bo” Swindle; her parents; her sister, Martha Parker; and two brothers, Larry Bodiford and Billy Bodiford. She loved cooking, gardening, thrifting and all things gold and sparkly. She loved sparkly shoes, purses, shirts, gold jewelry and diamonds. You name it. But more than that, she loved her family. Her her children, Jay Swindle (Martha) and Clay Swindle (Joan); granddaughters, Chelsea Coxwell, Marissa Swindle (Josh) and Holly Smith (Logan); grandsons, Jay Allen Swindle (Casey) and Jonathan Swindle (Haleigh); greatgrandchildren, Aubrey, Tristan, Ryder, Ayla, Ellie Jaye, and Wyatt; and her brother, Johnny Bodiford. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Warrior Church of Christ cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Gray officiating. Mary ‘Tootsie’ A. Swindle sons were her pride and joy. Once grandbabies came into the picture, she officially became Granny. Not only to her own, but to many other friends and family alike. She loved her some babies! Mary is survived by: The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home.
