Head-on crash involving two semi trucks

A horrific crash involving two semi trucks that collided head-on near Boyd Road on Hwy. 221 Tuesday morning resulted in fatal injuries to one driver. Numerous law enforcement officers re-routed traffic while first responders from Century EMS, Taylor County Fire-Rescue and City Fire Department worked to treat the victims. A medical helicopter landed in the road at the scene to transport one patient. The mangled remains of a semi truck marked as “Disaster Relief” hauling a trailer remained in the roadway, while the other semi, towing an overload-sized flatbed trailer, was thrown into the ditch by the impact.
