Barnie LC “Du-Hop” Williams, 76, of Tampa passed away March 14, 2025. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, at 12 noon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Perry. Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 21, from 5-7 p.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Barnie was born in Perry Jan. 27, 1949, to Barnaby Baskin and Virdie Lee Williams. He graduated from the Job Corps, enlisted in the Army and received an honorable discharge after three years of service. He leaves to cherish his memory: two devoted daughters, Tonja JonesBlount (Lawrence) and Vonda Simmons (Robert); grandchildren, Cornelius Williams, Danecia Williams, Aundre Jones, Ja’Corby Thomas and Auntre Jones; and his siblings, Carl Williams (Mary), Ronald Williams and Chenita Jones. Barnie is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, abd extended family and friends who will dearly miss his presence. He was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Sallie Pie Williams; his parents, Barnabie Baskin and Virdie Lee Williams; his stepfather, Jessie Lee Dobson; and his sister, Sarita Kay Williams Carter. Internment will be held Monday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
