    Julia Ann Roca

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Julia Ann Roca, affectionately known as Judy, who departed this life on March 22, 2025, at the age of 69.

    Born on Dec. 30, 1955, in Madison, Judy dedicated her life to her family and her work, becoming a cherished member of the Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

    Judy is survived by her beloved son, Luis Roca, and her adored grandchildren, Trey Roca, Allison Norman and Callie Roca, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

    Her life was marked by her love for the great outdoors. She found joy in searching for arrowheads and cherished every opportunity to fish, particularly when shared with her grandchildren.

    Her adventurous spirit and warm laughter brought light to those around her, inspiring all who knew her to appreciate the beauty of nature, and the precious moments spent with loved ones.

    A devout Baptist, Judy attended Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, where she found strength and community.

    Julia was preceded in death by: her parents, Lloyd Paul Blue Sr., Lamar Stephens and Evelyn Stephens; her husband Dr. Luis Andres Roca Sr.; her brother, Lloyd Paul “BOBO” Blue Jr.; and her nephew, Jamey Shiver.

    She is survived by: her son, Luis Roca Jr.; her grandchildren, Trey Roca, Allison Norman and Callie Roca; her siblings, Pauline and her husband, Ted Shiver, and Julian and his wife, Christy Blue; her nieces and nephews, Keith and his wife, Debbie Shiver, Matt Blue, Paul and his wife, Mandy Blue, and Karie Blue; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Amanda Shiver and her children, Braydon, Mason, and Azdahlynn, and Richard Wilson, and his daughter, Everleigh.

    A public visitation will be held at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church in her honor Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m., allowing friends and family the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate the life she so passionately lived. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Elder Gary Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

    All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
