It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dale Markey, a beloved brother, loyal friend and cherished soul. Randall Dale Markey, 66, passed away on Sept. 3, 2025 unexpectedly at home in Perry. Dale was born May 7,1959, at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Ga., to Randall Thomas Markey and Christine Virginia Markey. He was an active member of Truth & Grace Ministries. Dale worked 35-plus years with Tom’s Potato Chips (later known as Lance, Snyder Lance) in maintenance and packing. He spent many hours of his free time at the Taylor County Public Library visiting with friends. He enjoyed meeting and interacting with people on a daily basis. Dale touched lives in quiet, meaningful ways. He never sought recognition, but made a impact on people every single day. He was proceeded in death by: his grandparents, James Lee and Lillian Markey, and Burrell and Liza Lynch; his parents, Randall Thomas and Christine Virginia Markey; and a sister-in-law, Robin Annette Markey. Dale is survived by: one brother, Dana Markey and fiance’, Lynda Phillips; two nephews, Bradley Markey and Logan Markey; and great-niece, Malli Jo Markey. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Sunday, Sept 14, at Grace & Truth Ministries (109 South Jefferson St. in downtown) from 2-4 p.m. Services will be officiated by Curt Whitfield and Bill Lawhon.
