It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Homer Allen Jr., 72, who departed this life on Sept. 7, 2025, in Perry.
Born on Aug. 19, 1953, Homer was a cherished member of his community and brought joy to the lives of those who knew him.
Homer will be fondly remembered as a talented cook who dedicated many years of his life to the restaurant industry, serving delicious meals that delighted countless patrons.
His passion for cooking was only rivaled by his love for fishing and the companionship of his five beloved Chihuahuas, who brought him immense joy and comfort.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mildred Parker; his step-father, Bill Parker; his brother, Ronnie Dycus; and his father, Homer Allen Sr.
Homer is survived by: his devoted sisters, Janice Mills and Stella Murphy; his daughter, Brittany Freeman; his son, Will Allen; grandchildren, John, Greyson, Oakley, Kaileigh and Brianna Allen; great-granddaughter, Corleigh Faith; his sister, Barbara Knowles; and his nephew, Shane and his wife, Diane; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forth his memory and legacy with love.
A celebration of Homer’s life will be held at a later date. Homer Allen Jr. will be deeply missed, but his legacy of warmth, generosity and passion for life will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
